I grew up always playing sports. I loved running and exercising by myself and with my team. I was motivated. When I came to college four years ago, I was no longer part of a sport team. Not being a part of sport team and having to stay in shape, I lost that motivation. I would still occasionally go to the gym but not nearly as much. The days I did take myself, I felt so good afterwards but still didnt make it a priority in my daily schedule.
Well this summer before my senior year of college approached I knew it was time for a change. It wouldn't be everyday that I can just go to a gym for free after graduation. I told myself that I would fit the gym into my schedule. It's only two weeks into school and I have done exactly that. I feel great. I feel healthier. I feel happier. Not that I wasn't super happy before but I all around just feel better about myself. I don't feel guilty if I treat myself to that tempting snack because I am working hard, I am working to be the best version of myself and that deserves a reward.
I plan to keep up this work ethic, because I truly am enjoying my days. I'm taking advantage of those gym classes High Point offers, because we are so fortunate they are free to us now. Working out allows me to be happy, to be healthy, to be the best version of myself.
I love the message you're sending through your posts. Being in college none of us usually stop to think how high point offers all of these unique fitness opportunities for us that some people never take advantage of. Gym membership prices just keep getting higher and higher and you are so right that we should all take advantage of every privledge we have while we are here. I am totally on the same boat with you, when i feel healthier/happier i dont feel as bad treating myself and it creates an all around great cycle. Cant wait to read more of your posts!
