When it's raining we may be less motivated...
We may be less motivated to get out of our comfy bed, or less motivated to not just watch netflix all day, less motivated to get out of our pajamas. Trust me there's days when the rain is pouring down and those are the exact three things I'm going to do that day. But that can't be every day and all day.
Laying in bed in your pajamas, watching netflix is perfectly acceptable for a rainy day. But why do that all day? This goes back to the balancing out your time and balancing out your day ethics. It's raining and there is nothing to do, I get that. But why not go to the gym and watch netflix? You will feel extra lazy and sluggish if you lay in bed all day. Your body needs movement. Your body wantd you to rest but also wants you to push yourself, to workout on those rainy days.
Working out on rainy days, will give you more energy. Going to the gym when it's raining will make you feel better about yourself because you actually did something for your body instead of laying in bed all afternoon. You will feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Also sometimes we like to snack on those rainy days but after the hitting the gym we will more likely want to eat healthy snacks instead of all that junk food while watching netflix.
Since you didn't have much other activity on that rainy day, because lets face it we have probably stayed inside, take that extra thirty minutes at the gym. It can't hurt you, you're already there.
Why not feel extra good about yourself when the weather isn't pleasant. You are pleasant and you can get out of bed on that rainy gloomy day.
I totally agree with everything in this post! If im being honest I totally get that way on rainy days, all I want to do is snuggle in bed, but usually some not too great food decisions come along with it. If its a rainy day I almost always try to go to the gym, especially recently when it's been raining almost everyday, if we all stayed in bed every rainy day this past week, that means we would all have not worked out in a week, I know personally that would quickly catch up to me. I love how you tied this back to your value of balance. It really does come up everyday in every aspect of life! I think if we all started the trend to go to the gym on rainy days, maybe we could change the stereotype of rainy days meaning being lazy and tired!
ReplyDeleteI love this post and cannot agree with you more. Rainy days can easily cramp out styles and make us want to lounge around all day and do nothing, but then I feel absolutely horrible by the end of the day. I always feel guilty when I lounge around on rainy days, especially if its like this week was day after day. Going to the gym on rainy days can really turn things around in a positive way!
